Sealing your facade
Sealing a facade with Borellith is so easy that you will be able to do it yourself. Given that Borellith is a water-based product that does not contain any harmful pollutants, it is not necessary to clear the room where the products will be applied. The product can be used on every concrete surface and ( low) porous mineral substrates, new or existing.
Preliminary treatment before impregnation
Even though one can apply the product on every concrete surface, there is a set of criteria that should be fulfilled. These criteria allow for the product to function maximally, that is, it improves facade impregnation via the active principle present in the product. Your concrete should be:
When sealing existing and polluted concrete or ( low) porous substrates, it is especially important that the surface is well cleaned. Substrates which suffer from dirt and effloressence should be sanded down with a sanding machine before the start of the impregnation.
Applying Borèllith to your facade
The sealing of your wall or precast concrete elements is done by simply applying Borellith to the surface. Borellith is easy to apply, using a low-pressure ( curing) sprayer ( combined) with a short nab (microfiber) roller and or paint brush. Apply a single coat for a good seal. The treated surface must stay moist for minimal 30 minutes. You may apply multiple layers of Borellith. Adding multiple layers of the pigmented version of the product to a facade has, though, an effect on the intensity and opacity of the colour of the (re)coloured surface. Always apply from the bottom to the top for vertical applications; this helps to prevent stripe formation on the surface. Both glass and zinc need to be protected (for instance, using tape) before applying Borellith. The treated facade surface can be re-commissioned with caution, following the drying process.
