Privacy & cookies
Your information. Handled with care.
You want to know what happens to your information. Here we explain how BORÈL uses information for your enquiry or project, how cookies work and how to exercise your privacy rights.
Who is responsible for your information?
BORÈL B.V. is responsible for processing personal data when you visit our website, contact us, request a quotation or commission work. Contact us at info@borel.nl or +31 50 204 13 50. Our address is Vlasveen 72, 9301 PT Roden, the Netherlands. Our Dutch Chamber of Commerce registration number is 09079972.
What information do we use?
The information we need depends on your contact with BORÈL. It includes the information you provide and technical data needed for the website.
- Your name, email address, telephone number and, for business enquiries, your organisation and role.
- Your message, location, schedule and any photographs or drawings you share with your enquiry.
- Information about arrangements, quotations, commissions, invoices and payments.
- Technical information such as your IP address, browser information and security logs for the website and services used.
Share only information needed for your enquiry. Avoid including other people’s personal data or sensitive information in photographs, drawings or attachments.
What is the legal basis for using this information?
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare or carry out work. For a private individual’s enquiry, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing that contract.
- For business communication and project coordination. We have a legitimate interest in effective, careful collaboration and take your privacy interests into account.
- For invoicing and administration, on the basis of the contract and our legal obligations.
- To secure the website and prevent misuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest in safe systems.
Fields marked with an asterisk are needed to handle your enquiry. If you prefer not to share this information through the form, you can contact us by telephone. People assess your enquiry; the form does not make automated decisions about you.
Who receives your information?
Information may be accessible to staff and service providers who need it for your enquiry or project. These may include website hosting, email, IT, administration and project partners. JouwWeb provides website hosting and processes form submissions. Submissions are sent to BORÈL and are also available in JouwWeb’s form system.
We may also share information where required by law or where necessary to handle a dispute. Where a supplier processes data on behalf of BORÈL, agreements governing that processing are required.
How long is your information kept?
- Contact enquiries: up to two years after the enquiry is concluded.
- Quotations that are not accepted: up to two years after the last substantive contact.
- Client and project information: during the project and afterwards for as long as required by applicable warranty, liability or statutory periods, or an ongoing dispute.
- Tax records: generally seven years. Where a different statutory retention period applies, we follow that period.
- Technical data: for as long as needed to operate and secure the relevant service.
Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. You can ask us which retention period applies to your information.
Cookies, video and fonts
JouwWeb uses functional cookies to operate and secure the website. On password-protected pages, a cookie may remember your access. Your language selection is included in the web address.
The home page video is provided through Vimeo. When the player loads, Vimeo receives technical data including your IP address. The player uses the ‘do not track’ setting to limit tracking of viewing behaviour. Essential security cookies may still be set, and your browser may send previously stored Vimeo cookies.
The website loads fonts through Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google and transmits technical information including your IP address.
You can view and delete cookies through your browser. Their duration varies: some expire when you close the browser, while others are stored longer. For more information, consult JouwWeb’s and Vimeo’s cookie information and Google’s privacy policy.

Form security and visitor statistics
JouwWeb protects the contact forms against spam and misuse with Google reCAPTCHA. This check processes technical information about your browser, device and connection. The _grecaptcha security cookie may be used. If the check does not work, you can also contact BORÈL by telephone or email.
JouwWeb records visitor statistics using Plausible. These statistics show how the website is used, including pages visited and device type. Plausible does not use tracking cookies and, according to its data policy, does not store raw IP addresses. The website does not send form contents as statistics.

Processing outside Europe
International providers such as Vimeo and Google may process information outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are subject to GDPR requirements, including a valid transfer mechanism and additional safeguards where necessary. You can ask BORÈL for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data.
What privacy rights do you have?
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Submit your request using the contact form on this website. We may ask for information to verify your identity. You will generally receive a response within one month. If an extension is needed, we will notify you within that month and explain why.
Have a complaint about how your information is processed? Contact us. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or the supervisory authority in the country where you live, work or where the alleged infringement occurred.
